April is here and that means two different things, the
regular hockey season is
over and PSAHA's spring hockey sessions start. We would like to thank all
our
coaches and managers for volunteering their time this past season. We hosted
the
PNAHA Squirt Festival and three weekends of Daffodil Tournaments.
DAFFODIL TOURNAMENTS: This year's Daffodil Tournaments were very successful.
Almost every team at every level has already expressed an interest in
returning
next year. The board would like to extend a special thanks to Donna Hogeberg
for
all her time and efforts in making sure they ran smoothly. Squirt Tier 2/PeeWee
House had a great weekend with 9 teams total attending. The Squirt House
team
played a mini tournament with North Delta Atoms and held Skills & Drill
Contest
which all the kids enjoyed. Bantam/Midget weekend had some great games.
With
the Midget 3rd place winner being determined by a shoot-out. Our Bantams
finished in 2nd place and Midgets in 4th place. Teams from all over Canada,
Washington and Oregon attended our tournaments this year with interest as
far
away as Southern California. We would like to thank the following
businesses
for their sponsorship: 1Durr Commercial Painting, Les Schwab - Pierce
County,
Carpenters Union #407 , Samsung and American Medical Respon
se who provided an EMT/Medic during the Bantam/Midget weekend. We would also
like to recognize our vendors: Love-A-Latte, Expressions Photography and
Northwest Designs Ink.
PNAHA SQUIRT FESTIVAL: This year we hosted this state event for the first
time
in several years. Stephani Ebensteiner and Kristin Videto did an excellent
job
organizing it. We would like to extend special recognition to Cora Freidrich
for
